1,500 Anti-Trump Protests Set for Saturday

At a time when America is getting ready to honor the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, demonstrators unveiled a massive plan that will take place Saturday.

The “No Kings” has announced that roughly 1,500 demonstrations will happen at the same time across America.

In response, President Donald Trump has made it clear that these protesters will face serious consequences if they attempt to disrupt the historic celebration in Washington, D.C.

“For those people that want to protest, they’re going to be met with very big force,” the president warned.

“And I haven’t even heard about a protest, but you know, this is people that hate our country, but they will be met with very heavy force,” he added.

Protesters have centered their messaging on claims of promoting “democracy.”

Indivisible is orchestrating these demonstrations alongside other groups, including the American Federation of Teachers and Public Citizen.

No Kings has described itself as “a nationwide day of defiance. From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we’re taking action to reject authoritarianism—and show the world what democracy really looks like.”

“In America, we don’t do kings. They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too. Far,” a website for the events reads.

The protests strategically avoid Washington D.C. itself, where a strong security presence would protect the celebration from disruption.

D.C. residents are being encouraged to join protests in Philadelphia, Virginia, or Maryland.

The group’s website offers a detailed list of cities where protests are planned, along with the local times.

“Instead of allowing this birthday parade to be the center of gravity, we will make action everywhere else the story of America that day: people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption,” the movement wrote.

Notably, these protests coincide with ongoing demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement actions in major cities like Los Angeles.

There, federal agents were tasked with enforcing immigration laws, but they were met with defiance.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has sparked a political standoff with President Trump by opposing the administration’s efforts to protect American citizens from illegal immigration.
