Another major food recall has affected American consumers across multiple states, as a chocolate brand is recalling its products as it may be lethal.

Mellace Family Brands California, Inc. has issued a recall for Wegmans Semi-Sweet Chocolate Nonpareils due to the presence of undeclared milk allergens, posing a severe risk to individuals with milk allergies.
The product has been pulled from shelves in eight states and Washington, D.C., after undeclared milk allergens were discovered.
While no illnesses have been reported yet, this latest recall highlights the ongoing failures in food safety oversight that continue to put American families at risk.
Mellace Family Brands California, Inc., the manufacturer behind the popular chocolate treats, announced the recall last week.
The affected products were sold in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., impacting thousands of consumers who purchased the 18.5-ounce plastic tubs of chocolate candies.
The company admitted that the problem stemmed from “a temporary breakdown in the supplier’s manufacturing process,” raising serious questions about quality control standards and oversight in the food production system.
These chocolates, which many consumers believed were safe for those with milk allergies, actually contained an undisclosed allergen that could trigger life-threatening reactions in individuals with milk allergies.
The specific products under recall bear the UPC code 0 77890 49787 6 and include multiple lot codes with best-by dates ranging from December 28, 2025, through April 12, 2026.
Consumers who purchased these items are being advised to return them to the store for a full refund.
The FDA has published the company’s announcement and encourages reporting of allergic reactions, but critics question whether this reactive approach to food safety is enough.

While the government appears preoccupied with advancing its ideological agendas, basic consumer protections, such as ensuring that food labels accurately reflect ingredients, continue to fall short.
Dr. Sebastian Lighvani, an expert on food allergies, pointed out the alarming increase in food-related emergencies nationwide.
He emphasized the growing prevalence and severity of these undisclosed allergens under current regulatory frameworks.
For Americans concerned about this recall, Wegmans Food Markets has established a dedicated phone line.
Meanwhile, families across the country wonder how many more recalls they will face as they try to navigate a food system that seems increasingly unreliable and potentially dangerous.
