These moves have sparked significant unrest in communities, with predictions of explosive protests on the horizon.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is deploying Special Response Teams (SRTs) to five cities governed by Democrat leadership: Northern Virginia, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Seattle.
These strategic deployments indicate a significant operation focused on enforcing immigration laws within these regions.
Elite SWAT-like teams, known as SRTs, have been given the role of targeting high-risk individuals.
These units were previously employed in Los Angeles to manage and control protests.
Now, as they prepare to act, these teams face the formidable task of operating in places openly opposed to the current administration’s immigration policies.
On June 14, nationwide protests called “No Kings Day” are set to take place.
Organizers aim to voice their dissent against what they perceive as authoritarian tactics and push for democratic values.
Philadelphia, one of the targeted cities for ICE raids, is expected to have the largest demonstration.
“These riots are not going to deter us,” said one source involved in planning, cited by Fox 5 DC.
Amid the unfolding tension, enforcement operations are expected to proceed, with the potential for numerous arrests.
The decision to deploy specially trained units underscores the administration’s commitment to its immigration policy, regardless of the opposing protests.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has strongly criticized President Trump, condemning what he describes as “a brazen abuse of power.”
Newsom warned of the consequences of deploying the National Guard and other military forces, expressing concern about the militarization of public spaces and potential racial profiling.

“Donald Trump, without consulting with California’s law enforcement leaders, commandeered 2,000 of our state’s National Guard members to deploy on our streets. Illegally, and for no reason,” Newsom stated.
The anti-ICE protests have already led to numerous arrests, as cities like New York and Chicago see their own civil disobedience movements take shape.
The stakes are high, and as events unfold, the American public remains caught between a rock-and-a-hard-place scenario of maintaining law and securing freedoms.
