(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In another yet leftist move endangering our country, the Biden administration aims to distribute thousands of ID cards to illegals in no time as part of an initiative to update the documentation provided by U.S. government agencies.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning a “limited rollout” of its Secure Docket Card program this summer, which intends to distribute approximately 10,000 ID cards to migrants in as many as four U.S. cities.
According to a source, Houston and Atlanta are the first potential locations for the program.
ICE stated that the program seeks to “modernize documentation provided to some noncitizens,” clarifying that the cards are exclusively for use by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies like ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Despite not being an official federal identification, the secure card will be designated for use by DHS agencies and will only be issued after national security background checks.
Typically, migrants who cross the border illegally are given paper documents indicating their status and future immigration court dates before being released into the country.
In addition, ICE contended that paper documents are insecure, inefficient, and prone to loss or deterioration, hence the necessity for ID cards.
According to an ICE spokesperson, transitioning to a secure card system is anticipated to save the agency money, streamline operations, and enhance the accessibility of information for DHS officials while reducing the FOIA backlog.
Likewise, digital modernization will provide ongoing access to essential immigration documents for provisionally released noncitizens through a secure card and connected portal.
Images of the new cards revealed features such as a migrant’s photograph, a QR code, an ID number, and other identifying details.
Given these figures, the distribution of 10,000 cards under the pilot program would cover less than 1% of migrants who entered the country since 2021.
Last year, several Republican House lawmakers introduced legislation to thwart the plan, contending that ID cards would incentivize illegal immigration into the U.S.
Representative Michael McCaul (R-Texas), a co-sponsor of the No IDs for Illegals Act, criticized the initiative and argued that granting ID cards to those illegal aliens in the country illegally undermines law-abiding individuals striving to achieve the American dream.
