Biden Gets Bad News

Joe Biden

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In a report from a mainstream media outlet that is traditionally biased toward Joe Biden and the Democrats, CNN’s infamous data reporter, Harry Enten, delivered stunningly bad news for Biden, reporting that union workers – who are often Democrats – are now leaning toward the Republican party and former President Donald Trump.

This whole movement is worth noting, considering Joe Biden’s recent endorsement by the United Autoworkers Union (UAW), despite some doubts from UAW President Shawn Fain.

Enten’s analysis shows changes in union workers’ political preferences across crucial swing states like Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

In these states, union members are equally split between Biden and Trump, each garnering 47% support.

In comparison, Biden won this demographic by eight points in the 2020 election. The data shows an increasing tendency of union members to support Trump; in areas like Michigan and Nevada, union workers make up over 10% of the vote.

Poppy Harlow of CNN explored the historical background, and Enten noted that although Democrats had historically won the union vote by wide margins—62 points in 1948 and 31 points under Bill Clinton, respectively—Biden’s lead was just 22 points.

The Democratic advantage among union members continues to decline, which is consistent with a larger national trend that supports Trump. Notably, white-collar union workers are shifting away from Biden, but the movement is more noticeable among union members without higher education, who primarily back Trump.

Union membership has reached a historic low in 2023 despite the Biden Administration’s attempts to support organized labor despite these political changes.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, just 10% of American wage and salary workers were union members, a small decline from 2022.

With government agencies preparing recommendations to increase collective bargaining rights, aid in securing agreements, and improve public messaging on the advantages of union membership, the White House has been actively promoting unionization.
