(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In a new act of betrayal to millions of Americans and kowtowing to Third World illegal aliens, Joe Biden has given legal status to half a million migrants from Venezuela, all the while aiding and abetting the Southern Border invasion more than ever.
The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it would grant legal status to 472,000 Venezuelan illegal immigrants because of the “political instability in their home country,” National Review reports.
The 18-month-long Temporary Protected Status (TPS) will allow the Venezuelans to reside legally and work in the United States.
“It’s unclear how the government will select which migrants will be granted TPS,” The Times comments.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas championed the move, the report notes.
“Temporary protected status provides individuals already present in the United States with protection from removal when the conditions in their home country prevent their safe return,” Mayorkas said in a statement.
“That is the situation that Venezuelans who arrived here on or before July 31 of this year find themselves in. We are accordingly granting them the protection that the law provides,” he added.
The new nearly half a million illegal migrants from Venezuela will thus join another almost 250,000 already covered under a TPS designation.
The Biden administration has also created another TPS program that allows about 30,000 border jumpers from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to live and work in the US for two years if they have clear background checks and get a financial sponsor. Those migrants can even enter the US by plane rather than a land route.
More than 7 million illegal immigrants have crossed into the US since Joe Biden took over the White House in January 2021 – including about 2 million gotaways.
Since the start of September, there has been a new spike in illegal immigrant arrivals, according to an NBC News report quoting two Homeland Security officials. The number of Southern Border encounters has reached 10,000 on some days.
Meanwhile, Democrat politicians, such as New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul, have been complaining about the migrant influx, with NYC struggling to accommodate some 100,000 illegal immigrants arriving there in a little over a year.
On Wednesday, Eagle Pass, Texas, declared a state of emergency over a “flood of illegal immigrants,” mostly Venezuelans filmed by Fox correspondent Bill Melugin.
