Biden Sinks To New Low

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In a striking revelation from the latest ABC News/Ipsos poll, President Biden’s approval ratings have hit a record low, not just for his own presidency but for any U.S. president in the last 15 years.

Only 33% of U.S. adults currently approve of Biden’s job performance, a significant drop from 37% in September 2023. This downward trend is further emphasized by his disapproval rating, which has climbed to 58%, marking a concerning shift in public opinion.

This poll positions Biden’s approval rating lower than that of former President Trump, who currently leads as the GOP nominee for president. Interestingly, when reflecting on Trump’s presidency, 41% of respondents now approve of how he handled his job, despite a decrease from 48% in September.

Trump’s disapproval rating, though increased to 53%, still fares better than Biden’s current standing.

In a comparison of traits such as honesty, trustworthiness, mental sharpness, and physical health, the results are revealing. Biden and Trump are relatively close in perceived honesty and trustworthiness, with 41% of respondents associating these qualities with Biden and 26% with Trump.

However, when it comes to mental sharpness and physical health, Trump appears to have an edge. While both candidates have seen declines in these areas since last May, Trump’s numbers are still significantly higher than Biden’s, with 47% believing in Trump’s mental sharpness compared to Biden’s 28%.

There is, however, a slight silver lining for Biden concerning the economy. His approval rating on economic handling has marginally improved to 31%, up from 30% in September. More notably, his disapproval rating in this area has dropped by 8 points to 56%.

This shift suggests a growing uncertainty among Americans about Biden’s economic policies, as indicated by the increase in respondents who are unsure or have no opinion on this matter.

Despite these concerning poll numbers, Biden’s campaign has historically cautioned against placing too much emphasis on early polling, reminding the public that the election season is still in its early stages.

This poll, which surveyed 2,228 adults with a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points, highlights the challenges Biden faces in his reelection bid, particularly in comparison to Trump’s relatively stronger position among voters.
