(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Reversing course, Donald Trump has canceled a press conference during which he had vowed to make public an “irrefutable report” about fraud in the 2020 election in Georgia.
Trump had announced the upcoming event as a reaction to Monday’s decision by a Georgia grand jury and Fulton County DA Fani Willis charging him and 18 other defendants over allegedly trying to overturn the 2020 election in the Peach State.
“A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Tuesday morning.
“Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others — There will be a complete EXONERATION!” he added.
However, his presidential campaign didn’t announce the press conference, and his attorneys and aides “had also been silent about it,” leftist news outlet NBC observed.
The former president canceled the event in a new Truth Social post on Thursday evening, in which he also made it clear the promised 2020 Georgia election fraud wouldn’t be released now.
“Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged & Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings. Therefore, the News Conference is no longer necessary!” Trump declared.
The former president was urged by his legal advisers to cancel the promised Bedminster press conference, another mainstream media outlet, ABC News, reported earlier on Thursday, also quoted by The Washington Times.
“The situation underscores Mr. Trump’s predicament as he fires up his base for a 2024 run but faces a series of federal and Georgia-based charges over his actions following the 2020 election,” The Times comments.
The charges filed in Fulton County, Georgia, have become the fourth Democrat-led indictment of the former president.
In April, he was charged by Manhattan’s DA over hush money allegations. In July and early August, the Biden Justice Department slapped Trump with two federal indictments – over alleged mishandling of classified documents and trying to overturn the 2020 election.
