Witness: Biden Influence Peddling ‘Unprecedented’ – Video

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Solidifying the powerful wrongdoing suspicions against Joe Biden and his family, law professor Jonathan Turley has told the first impeachment inquiry hearing into the president that the influence peddling claims against the Bidens are unprecedented.

You can watch a video of Turley at the bottom of this post.

During Thursday’s hearing, the legal expert from George Washington University told the members of three GOP-led House committees they had a “duty” to establish the truth about the president’s alleged participation in pay-to-play schemes organized by his son Hunter Biden.

“Influence peddling is the favorite form of corruption in Washington, DC, and this city is awash in it. But have I seen anything of this size and complexity? No,” Turley declared.

“The question is, did the president know? Did he encourage this type of corruption? You have to begin with the recognition that what Hunter Biden and his associates were doing was corrupt,” the expert witness stated in response to questions by US Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI).

The law professor was among the four witnesses at the hearing. A report by National Review notes none of them – three Republicans and one Democrat – “were direct witnesses” to any potential Biden family crimes.

In the past, Turley testified in the impeachment proceedings against presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.

He declared that the “labyrinth of accounts and companies” used by the Biden family for money transfers and Hunter’s comments justified the impeachment inquiry into the president.

“I believe it is your duty to determine if the president is involved in what is a known form of corruption. I believe many people have accepted this was influence peddling in its rawest form,” the legal scholar told the US lawmakers when asked if the House should “have this inquiry.”

At the same time, Turley argued that the evidence collected by House investigators in its present form did not yet give sufficient grounds to impeach Joe Biden.

“What I suggest is you do so without any prejudice, you do so without any assumptions. In fact, I hope that the president will be able to show that there is no such nexus [between his family’s schemes and him]. But you won’t get those answers until you ask these questions,” the witness stated.
