(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – America’s K12 education system has been infiltrated so deeply by far-left ideology that a teachers’ union is now holding teach-ins promoting the Palestinian Islamist terrorist group Hamas and bashing US ally Israel while touting highly discredited Marxist-Communist notions.
Students from kindergarten through high school in Oakland, California, were set to receive instruction on Wednesday from teachers who assert that Western capitalism is evil, and so is the Jewish state of Israel.
“We are living in a world where the forces of imperialism and capitalism shape the decisions of global leaders and enact oppressive conditions upon various ethnic groups and often turn oppressed groups against each other,” states the Oakland Education Association in their “Educational Resources on Palestine” document, cited by National Review.
“The liberation of the Palestinian people is a complex topic, just as all history is complex, and we encourage educators to educate themselves before teaching these materials in the classroom,” the document emphasizes.
The Oakland teach-in comes after, on October 7, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and massacred over 1,400 people with utmost sadism.
The Oakland Education Association lists pro-Palestinian Arab resources for its teachers, such as an animated introduction to the “Israeli-Palestinian conflict” produced by Jewish Voice for Peace, a progressive anti-Zionist organization.
Another listed resource is a YouTube video titled, “Why is Israel called an ‘apartheid’ state?” which argues that Israel’s “systematic oppression by one racial group over another” qualifies it as an apartheid state.
The documents suggest using the word “genocide” to describe the situation in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip enclave.
The Oakland teachers’ union also claims that US military aid to vital American ally Israel is leaving them underfunded.
“As Oakland educators, we are subject to drastic underfunding at the state level as well as the forces of privatization and mismanagement at the OUSD level. In 2023, California sent over 600 million dollars in military aid to Israel. That money could have funded more teacher positions, provided more social services to families,” the union’s document says.
For younger students, educators provided resources like the alphabet book, “P is for Palestine,” which includes the line, “I is for Intifada, Intifada is Arabic for rising up for what is right if you are a kid or a grownup!” referencing Palestinian uprisings against the Jewish state.
Oakland Unified School District Superintendent Kyla Johnson-Trammell claimed that the district does not authorize the teach-in.
