(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Living up to her role as a model for young mothers across the country, Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has publicly stated that her eldest son should face the consequences of his actions following his involvement in alleged crimes.
Recent court documents revealed that 18-year-old Tyler Boebert and his younger accomplices are implicated in a series of car burglaries in Rifle, Colorado, and are accused of stealing wallets and credit cards from the vehicles, which then they used for transactions in local gas stations, Starbucks, McDonald’s and online retailer Shein.
The incidents took place last week and led Tyler to face 22 charges, with five being felonies, which highlighted his alleged participation in these thefts.
Attempts to use the stolen credit cards included a notable failed transaction of $717 on Shein.com. Surveillance footage from a gas station captured one of the transactions and played a key role in Tyler’s identification by law enforcement, who recognized him from past interactions and his distinctive hoodie linked to his family’s former business, Shooter’s Grill.
This is not Tyler’s first encounter with legal issues: in 2022, he received a ticket related to a car accident that resulted in the injury of his friend.
Rep. Boebert expressed her distress over her son’s actions but emphasized the importance of accountability.
“I love my son Tyler, who has been through some very difficult, public challenges for a young man…It breaks my heart to see my child struggling and in this situation, especially when he has been provided multiple opportunities to get his life on track,” she said in a statement.
She further expressed, “I will never give up on him and I will continue to be there for him. As an adult and father, Tyler will take responsibility for his actions and should be held accountable for poor decisions just like any other citizen.”
Following his arrest Tyler was released the following day without bail after attending a court hearing via video conference where he was seen wearing a jail uniform.
Details concerning Tyler’s alleged co-conspirators remain undisclosed due to their age.
Tyler is potentially facing several felony and misdemeanor charges, including criminal possession of identification documents, conspiracy, trespassing, identity theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, although formal charges are yet to be filed.
