(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – It seems that Taylor Swift wanted this to be kept secret for at least a bit longer, but someone thought it was a good idea to make it public.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive backs coach, Dave Merritt, recently spilled the beans on a surprising secret about pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce. In a podcast called “The Sports Shop with Reese and K-Mac,” Merritt disclosed that Swift had been attending Kelce’s games long before the public caught wind of their relationship.
“When [Taylor] started to come around, it was privately. She was coming into the stadiums without people knowing until the camera put a big spotlight on it,” Merritt revealed.
Swift’s presence at the games wasn’t immediately evident until a particular moment during the Chiefs’ Week 3 matchup against the Bears when cameras caught her cheering alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna, in a private suite.
Addressing the scrutiny Swift faced for being shown on TV during games, Merritt defended her, saying, “There were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on the TV that, you know what? You’re part of our family because you’re with Travis. So, therefore, you’re our little sister… You’re part of our family.”
Throughout the Chiefs’ last season, Swift attended a total of 13 games that fans were aware of, culminating in a memorable moment when the couple sealed the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win over the 49ers with a kiss on the field at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11.
Kelce recently made a trip to Australia to catch Swift’s performances in Sydney as part of her Eras Tour, which is set to continue in Singapore this weekend.
The relationship between Swift and Kelce started last summer but wasn’t made public until October. Their journey from keeping things under wraps to sharing their romance with the world has undoubtedly captured the attention of fans and media alike.
