(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Keeping his foreign relations plans close to himself until he clinches the presidency once again, former President Donald Trump’s campaign spokesperson campaign shot down a narrative going around about a potential visit to a country in Europe.
Specifically, the spokesperson disproved that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had extended a personal invitation for the former president to visit Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
“There’s been no outreach [from Zelensky],” stated the campaign representative, highlighting Trump believes it “wouldn’t be appropriate for him to go to Ukraine right now since he’s not commander in chief.”
In discussions with Axel Springer media entities, Zelensky recently stated that Trump was open to considering an invitation to Ukraine.
“We conveyed the messages and the context through the appropriate people. We said that we would like Donald Trump to come to Ukraine, see everything with his own eyes and draw his own conclusions. In any case, I am ready to meet him and discuss the issue,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky has constantly suggested he would guide Trump through Ukraine’s battlegrounds to force him to see the realities of the ongoing conflict with Russia in hopes that Trump would boost military support for Ukraine after he retakes the White House.
“I have great respect for President Zelenskyy, but think it would be inappropriate to go to Ukraine at this time,” Trump told Newsmax last November.
“The Biden administration is currently dealing with him, and I would not want to create a conflict of interest,” Trump explained.
As for a potential deal, Trump has suggested that any further U.S. aid to Ukraine should be looked at as a loan. He insisted that he could bring the conflict to a close “within 24 hours” if re-elected.
Countering Trump, Zelenskyy has said, “If the deal is that we just give up our territories, and that’s the idea behind it, then it’s a very primitive idea.
“I need very strong arguments. I don’t need a fantastic idea, I need a real idea, because people’s lives are at stake,” he further added.
