(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – The degree to which the political left is concerned about Donald Trump has been further demonstrated by a recent warning from former President Barack Obama to President Joe Biden.
According to an unveiled report, Obama cautioned Biden that “45” should not be taken lightly as the 2024 election approaches.
The Washington Post, a publication known for its leftist perspective, stated that Obama expressed his concerns to his former vice president, Joe Biden, about Trump’s potentially surprising campaign power. This strength, Obama warned, could be enhanced by the revitalized GOP.
During a private lunch at the White House residence on June 27, Obama spoke to President Biden about his concerns regarding Trump, as confirmed by two sources familiar with the meeting, as stated in the Post’s report.
Newsmax reported that Obama’s concern stemmed from a specific combination of factors, such as “intensely loyal supporters, conservative media, and a polarized country” – a mix that might create a perfect storm boosting Trump’s chances in the 2024 election.
In one of their routine meetings, Obama offered advice to Biden, not doubting Biden’s political acumen but rather emphasizing Trump’s “iron grip” on the GOP, according to what the Post pointed out, as quoted by Breitbart News.
Supporting Obama’s view of Trump as a formidable opponent are the results of a New York Times – Siena College poll released on Tuesday, indicating a tie between him and Biden at 43% voter support in a hypothetical 2020 rematch.
Besides expressing concerns about the GOP nomination frontrunner, Obama assured Biden in their private meeting that he would “do all he could” to assist him in his reelection. The former Democratic White House colleagues also engaged in discussions about various other topics, ranging from policy to personal and familial matters.
Regarding the private White House meeting, Obama adviser Eric Schultz told the leftist paper, “We place a huge emphasis on finding creative ways to reach new audiences, especially tools that can be directly tied to voter mobilization or volunteer activations.” He further stated, “We are deliberate in picking our moments because our objective is to move the needle.”
A comment from Biden’s campaign spokesperson, TJ Ducklo, was also made on the subject: “President Biden is grateful for [Obama’s] unwavering support, and looks forward to once again campaigning side-by-side … to win in 2024 and finish the job for the American people.”
In anticipation of the 2024 presidential campaign, Obama is now expected to host or participate in fundraising activities for Joe Biden.
