(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – A former high-level executive of Morgan Stanley has filed a lawsuit alleging that he was fired for being white as his job as managing director went to a black woman he alleges was less qualified than him under the bank’s “diversity” efforts.
In the lawsuit he launched on Tuesday, Kevin Meyersburg insists his dismissal in May occurred despite his “impressive list of achievements,” Newsmax reports.
The lawsuit in “Meyersburg v. Morgan Stanley & Co” has been filed at the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
The former investment bank executive states in the court documents that during his three years as head of executive services and managing director, he supported Morgan Stanley’s DEI (“diversity, equity, inclusion”) efforts.
Yet, he was still removed by the bank’s financial wellness team chief.
“While the Wellness Director may be a talented corporate executive, she simply did not have comparable levels of experience or background … to justify Morgan Stanley’s decision,” Meyersburg’s lawsuit argues.
The former executive also revealed that shortly before his firing, Morgan Stanley rebuffed his recommendation to sack one female and two minority workers due to underperformance.
The report notes that the spokeswoman for Morgan Stanley refused to comment on the case.
According to Newsmax, pundits predict a surge in reverse-discrimination lawsuits after, in June, the US Supreme Court struck down “affirmative action,” ruling against race-based decisions in college admissions.
Even though the ruling didn’t deal with employment issues, it has been used by opponents of “diversity policies” to boost their stance.
In another relevant case earlier in August, Gannett Co. Inc. faced a proposed class action for allegedly discriminating against white newsroom employees.
Kevin Meyersburg’s lawsuit isn’t the first over Morgan Stanley’s diversity policies after last year, America First Legal, a nonprofit founded by allies of former President Donald Trump, slapped the bank with a complaint at the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
America First Legal insisted that a Morgan Stanley training and apprenticeship program meant solely for “black, Hispanic, Native American, and LGBTQ college students” broke federal law prohibiting employment discrimination.
The conservative nonprofit has also filed similar complaints against McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Kellogg’s.
